With a blend of dreamy acoustic duets, foot-stomping folk and bluesy murder ballads, New Zealand-formed and Nashville-based South for Winter\u2019s sound is as eclectic as their origins. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The band is composed of New Zealander Nick Stone, Coloradan Dani Cichon, and Michigander Alex Stradal.  Together the three multi-instrumentalists and songwriters combine elements such as classically-trained cello, percussive guitar, mandolin, suitcase stomp, poetic lyricism, and haunting melodies into a genre-bending sound described by American Songwriter as \u201cimpeccable\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They swing from bluesy murder ballads to airy acoustic duets; from traditional stomp and holler to smooth jazz; from stripped-back instrumentals to heavily layered folk-rock; and everywhere in between.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A great night of music spanning Southern Gothic murder ballads, foot-stomping folk, to harmony-driven duets.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Old Lodge Theatre Feb 20.
