Diablos Caravan is an evening of virtuosic acoustic guitar performed by three of NZ’s finest players on a huge 62 date nationwide summer tour. Featuring the talents of Doc Sanchez, Jimi Kara and Luke Flanders and joined by a host of guest guitarists as the tour winds its way around the country.
Its been a tough year for musicians, venues and events, so Diablos Caravan are bringing this world class show to as many regions of the country as possible this summer. Doc Sanchez….20 years playing full time professionally, internationally and nationally with over 3500 shows performed. Session recording guitarist for dozens of tracks from artists as diverse as Marlon Williams right through to working with top European producers on Eurovision songs in Sweden??? …and everything in between. Doc is currently based in Dunedin and well known for his flair and skill specialising in performing Spanish and South American style guitar.
Doug Robertson…. an amazing multi instrumentalist…if it has strings, he plays it! Doug cut his teeth in the highly competitive Auckland Jazz music world where he continues to be one the most sought out live guitarists in the Gypsy Jazz scene. Doug is currently touring nationally playing guitar with renowned ensemble Gitbox Rebellion.
Kara Gordon….aka Jimi Kara (Fly my Pretties), has opened for some of the worlds largest acts, from Elton John to Slash to Ozzy Osborne. He has extensively toured overseas and is currently based teaching, recording and performing full time fronting various bands in Auckland. Kara is widely regarded amongst his peers as one of the finest blues guitarists in NZ.
